Often people assume that in order to network well they need to be extroverted, ‘alpha’ or even aggressive. This isn’t true! The main message of my networking masterclass is that you can be yourself and still network well.
Yesterday I spent the morning with the utterly incredible scholars in the Healthcare Leadership Academy (HLA) running the ‘Networking for career success’ masterclass and a lot of our discussions focused on developing an authentic, personal style of networking. There were 30 medical students, nurses and junior doctors in the room who are all spending their weekends for the next six months upskilling in a variety of aspects of leadership.
I have been teaching the scholars networking from the first cohort two years ago. They never cease to impress me with their enthusiasm and drive to succeed. I learn new things every time I deliver this workshop. It is fantastic to see the scholars grow and build their confidence with networking.
Thank you HLA for a fun day. Can’t wait until next time!
